Our Founders
After travelling around Australia and eating pies every day for six months we returned to the UK with two things on our minds:
1. Make great pies
2. Open a pie shop!
After a year of planning, in 2003 we set up Pieminister. Scrabbling together some basic equipment and working hard into the night, we set up shop in Stokes Croft, Bristol. Tristan, as a trained chef, made the pies and Jon ran the shop. Day one we sold five pies (not a great start), but word spread fast and after two weeks there was a queue out of the door! Soon followed a stall at London’s famous Borough Market, then a stall at Glastonbury – a dream come true. Over the years we have grown and now employ over 200 people. We still make all our pies in Bristol and we still eat pies every day.
