An Evening with The King of Chemo

     

What happens when you combine London’s best pies, fiendishly tricky quiz questions, and one of the world’s most inspiring humans? Pure magic – and over $500 raised for the American Cancer Society!

Earlier this month, we were absolutely thrilled to host a charity pub quiz at The Nellie Dean, a Pieminister pie pub right in the heart of Soho. The evening was hosted by the legendary Iain Ward, better known as The King of Chemo – a man who turned a terminal brain cancer diagnosis into an extraordinary mission to break records for charity fundraising.

An Unforgettable Night

The atmosphere was electric as teams of quiz enthusiasts tucked into a fabulous Pieminister pie feast, fueling their brains for the challenging questions ahead. And boy, were they challenging – especially our pie-themed round that had even the most seasoned quizzers scratching their heads!

The prizes were as unique as the evening itself:

• First Prize: A year’s supply of pies (because what could be better?)
• Second Prize: A £100 bar tab, courtesy of Bruno, The Nellie Dean’s legendary landlord
• Third Prize: The chance to choose a tattoo design for Iain’s next piece of body art!
