We’re back on the Croft!
It’s been three months since we closed our original shop in Bristol – but we think you’ll agree it’s been worth the wait! Our founder Jon and his team have created a completely new pie place for all you Bristol pie eaters – and now you get to have your pie with a pint!
This new pie and cider place extends way back into our old pie kitchens, doubling the dining room. It’s decked-out with a mix of utilitarian design features and a fresh and original pieminister style (think neon signs, polished concrete, bare brickwork….and a piano) – Jon our founder trained as a product designer, so he’s loved getting creative here!
There’s a zinc bar stocked to the rafters with local craft beers and ciders, carafes of house wine (one red, one white: small, £5/big, £10) and Bristol’s very own 6 O’Clock Gin & Tonic. There’s also a selection of West Country bar nibbles and £5 cheese boards to share.
Or you can sit at tables to be served by staff who’ll bring your favourite award winning pie from the range with our classic sides (you can swap your mash for chips, or have your pie served ploughman-style!). This is also the first place to try a pieminister mash-topped pie. Served in enamel tins, choose from fish pie, cottage pie or pulled pork pie. And there are puddings: £1 balls from Bath’s Marshfield Farm come in three classic ice cream flavours or try the Bristolbockerglory – a West Country ice cream sundae.
We’re open at 10am for morning coffee (from Bristol’s Extract Coffee Roasters) and the food menu’s available all day until closing time at 11pm. As well as pies you can pop in for an afternoon cuppa (teas from Tea House of Bath) and a simple, delicious selection of classic tray-baked cakes handmade on the premises. So this really is somewhere for everyone, any time – for coffees with colleagues, pie feasts with family, lazy Sunday munching with mates and with the new, late opening hours, it’s a great place for a pie and pint pit-stop in the evening.
All our award winning pies are made in-house, 4.5miles from Stokes Croft. The pies are made using 100% British beef, outdoor reared pork, free range chicken and venison and MSC certified fish. All our vegetarian pies are approved by the Vegetarian Society and contain award winning cheeses from the West Country.
We look forward to seeing you here soon!
